19th Century Country House Writing Table / Desk

This Spectacular Quality Late 19th Century Antique Victorian Walnut Davenport Desk dates from circa, 1870 and is a real stunning piece. It has a small raised back above a hinged sloping fall front writing surface with tooled leather and moulded edge. The interior has several pigeon holes and a faux drawer with two turned handles (one pull out handle to unlock the small side drawer). The side has a small hinged drawer with pen holder and two ink wells above four four working drawers and four faux drawers on the opposite side.

This fine 19th Late Century Mahogany Antique Pedestal Desk by Maple & Co dates from around 1890 and is full of beautiful charm and character. This Victorian Mahogany antique desk has a rectangular figured Mahogany reinstated top above a central drawer over knee hole. Each pedestal has a drawer with satinwood cross-banding, boxwood string inlay and the original brass handles. This sits above a cupboard door, with moulded panels and again fine inlays.

The sides are curved and canted and this quality desk stands on Ogee carved bracket feet. It has unusual blind fretwork carvings, splits into three sections for removal and has wonderful charm and character.

Below is a writing slope that has the original wonderful worn embossed leather writing surface. The lid is hinged and has storage inside. This fine antique davenport has a what not design base with two tiers and turned upright supports.
